This 20-student classroom with 20 computer stations offers a place where faculty can pilot test experimental courses where the content is primarily computer based or where students are trained to use multimedia software and other technologies. For instance, students might enroll in an Internet-based advanced skills class in Chinese. High school teachers and graduate teaching associates can attend the French or Spanish Major Media course where they learn about media literacy and where they learn to create online learning modules for their students. Intermediate-level students will develop their writing skills in a computer-based composition where they use software especially designed for individual and collaborative writing. Faculty members are invited to submit proposals to offer courses in this classroom.
Requests to schedule this room may be submitted through the reservation link below to Rebecca Bias in the Foreign Language Center. The Experimental Classroom has a maximum enrollment of 20 students. All requests should include the following information: 1) course name; 2) brief description of the course and technology is used in the course; and 3) any special software needed for the course (provided at the expense of the department and installed by FLC staff).
